The new features were presented in the gameplay deep dive for “EA Sports FC 25”. The highlight is the FC IQ system, which is the most important tactical change in over ten years.
Yesterday, Thursday, Electronic Arts released the deep dive into the gameplay of “EA Sports FC 25”. With this, the developers presented the new game mechanics and systems for the updated football simulation.
One of the new features is the FC IQ system. This is a “complete overhaul of the tactics system”. EA calls it the “most important tactics change in over a decade”.
In “EA Sports FC 25” this allows for a more in-depth game, giving you better control over your team’s tactics. You can also use this system to easily imitate the tactics of your favorite coach. In the video embedded below you can see an example of a practice that Carlo Ancelotti implements at Real Madrid.
Part of this system are the player roles: define the role of a player to use him in different ways. You have to take into account the current situation and personal strategy. An AI model helps you find the right role for your players. Therefore, some of them have a (double) plus, which indicates a high suitability for the respective role.
Another component of the new system is Smart Tactics. During the course of a game, the player automatically receives tactical suggestions. You can also share your tactics with friends thanks to a code system.
New tactics system present in all modes
FC IQ is used in all modes. It also affects the core systems in the career regarding transfers, scouting and the youth academy.
Finally, there are the Goalkeeper Playstyles, which were a great success in the previous installment. That’s why the developers decided to expand on them.
