Despite the fact that the first Core Ultra 200 chips in the LGA1851 design will be released this fall, Intel is not yet ready to retire the LG1700 platform. The company is preparing a family of Bartlett Lake processors for it. Initially, they were considered to be designed for the field of peripheral computing and telecommunications equipment, but the latest data indicates that these will be consumer processors.
In terms of architecture, the Intel Bartlett Lake chips will not differ from the current LGA1700 processors. Moreover, some models will continue to use crystals from the Alder Lake/Raptor Lake CPUs, which have up to 24 cores (8P + 16E). However, Intel will also release a completely new crystal. In it, the company will use 12 “large” cores, although the release of such processors will have to wait.
The rebranding of Alder Lake/Raptor Lake chips is scheduled for January, while the truly new Intel Bartlett Lake processors on P-cores will be released only in the third quarter of 2025. According to foreign colleagues, Intel thus expects to supplement the Core Ultra 200 (Arrow Lake-S) model range and offer an alternative to inexpensive chips for the AM4 platform. By the way, new models for the long-lived AMD platform will be released this month.
