IGN has released a 10-minute video with an exclusive demonstration of the gameplay of the detective game Nobody Wants To Die. The game was announced in the spring, although development has been going on for four years. It immediately attracted attention with its atmosphere and style. Nobody Wants To Die immerses you in the noir New York of 2329, made in the style of retro-futurism.
In this world, technology has been able to provide people with eternal life through the transfer of consciousness. But only the upper classes can afford such luxury, the rest store their consciousness in memory banks. But even in this world, murders and final death are possible. Detective James Carr investigates a series of such murders. He uses various technological gadgets, studies the crime scene and reconstructs the scene of the incident. Obviously, the game is not about action, but about exploring the world and interacting with objects.
But, as was said, it looks unusual and stylish. It reminds of an old noir film with a touch of fantasy. Beautiful graphics are provided by the Unreal Engine 5.
The game will go on sale on July 17. It will be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
