Garth Ennis’ comic book series The Boys is getting another spin-off. San Diego Comic-Con announced a project called Vought Rising, a prequel to The Boys.
Vought Rising is set in the 1950s and will tell the story of how the Vought corporation was able to create its own superheroes, with the main characters being Soldier Boy and Stormfront, secondary characters from The Boys.
In The Boys cinematic universe, Soldier Boy was the first official American superhero, and Stormfront was the first real superhero, gaining her superpowers through Nazi technology.
Vought Rising will reprise its lead roles with Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, who played Soldier Boy and Stormfront on The Boys. The series will be shown by Paul Grellong, with The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke serving as executive producer.
There is no word on when Vought Rising will premiere.
