The first detailed gameplay scenes for the new “Dynasty Warriors” spin-off were presented. Koei Tecmo used ChinaJoy 2024, which started today, for the presentation.
Check out the gameplay before you jump into battle yourself next year.
ChinaJoy 2024 is currently taking place. Between July 26 and 29, numerous upcoming video games will be presented. One of the participants is Sony PlayStation, whose lineup we reported on in the middle of the month.
As producer Tomohiko Sho promised, he presented the first real gameplay of “Dynasty Warriors Origins” at the Chinese gaming event.

Here you see the nameless protagonist at the side of the young Guan Yu. Apparently you can switch back and forth between the two characters, which provides a certain amount of variety. Other officers can also be played temporarily under certain conditions.
A world map has also been confirmed. On it, you can freely choose your battles and interact with different officers.
More soldiers than ever before
In addition to the gameplay, developer studio Omega Force and publisher Koei Tecmo have provided a few screenshots. This underlines how many soldiers you will have to deal with this time. There has never been a larger number in the hack-and-slash series before!
So look forward to battles with thousands of soldiers, whom you can fight with swords, other melee weapons and fists.

The release of “Dynasty Warriors: Origins” is planned for 2025. A specific date is still pending. The PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC will be supported.
