Vought Rising, a prequel to The Boys starring Toy Soldier and Stormfront set in the 1950s, was announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 and will reportedly draw on the era’s themes and vibe, from Judy Garland’s films to Joseph McCarthy’s politics.
Jensen Ackles will of course reprise his role as Toy Soldier and Aya Cash as Stormfront, but details are scarce at the moment: the show is currently in the writing stages and will chronicle the birth and rise of Vought, but we’ll have to wait a while for its release.
The great success achieved so far by The Boys, which you can find on the Prime Video streaming platform also with all the episodes of the fourth season, has therefore contributed to the birth of a second parallel project after Gen V.
It doesn’t end here
Speaking of Gen V, the spin-off was also presented at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, in this case with a first teaser trailer for the second season which, however, has not yet been officially released by Amazon.
Apparently, the video features Abyss, who will therefore play a specific role in the second season, while a sort of recruitment message is passed on from the top brass of Godolkin University, the school that serves as the backdrop to the events of the various characters in Gen V.
