At today’s annual presentation, Xiaomi introduced the Smart Band 9 smart bracelet. The manufacturer equipped the new product with a more capacious battery than its predecessor, and claims battery life of up to 21 days, and with the Always On Display mode enabled – up to 9 days.
Xiaomi Smart Band 9 has hardly changed compared to its predecessor in terms of design. The bracelet has a fairly large 1.62-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 60 Hz and an updated Bluetooth 5.4 module. The new product supports more than 150 training modes, as well as water protection (5 ATM). Xiaomi claims to have improved the accuracy of the heart rate sensor by 16% compared to the previous generation. In addition, the company collaborated with Peking University and increased the accuracy of detecting breathing problems during sleep by 7.9%.
The quick-change straps are available in four colors: pink, black, white, and blue. The built-in battery capacity is 233 mAh, which is significantly more than the 190 mAh of its predecessor. The NFC version of the bracelet can act as keys for some car models.
The standard bracelet costs 250 yuan ($35), the NFC version costs 300 yuan ($42), and the special ceramic version costs 350 yuan ($48). There is no word yet on when the new product will be available outside of China.
