Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox, the renowned studio behind the iconic Borderlands series, recently made a promising suggestion in an interview that is giving hope to gamers around the world.
Speaking to GamesRadar+, Pitchford discussed Gearbox’s future plans, mentioning a project that appears to be coming sooner than expected. This news gives Borderlands fans hope, as the last release in the main series, Borderlands 3, was back in 2019. Could the new announcement be another adventure in the crazy Borderlands universe?
Borderlands: A success story
The Borderlands series has been one of the most popular loot shooter series for years and inspires players with its unique mix of humorous story, strong characters and an almost endless variety of crazy weapons. Since the release of Borderlands 3 (buy now / However, Gearbox hasn’t completely let fans down with the release of the first game (€53.99). In 2022, they released the spin-offs Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and New Tales from the Borderlands to shorten the wait for a new main part. But now it might finally be time for a new, big adventure.
Announcement at Gamescom?
Another hint of a possible announcement is Pitchford’s statement that fans don’t have to wait long for news. Could it be that Gearbox will use Gamescom, one of the largest gaming trade fairs in the world, to present its new project? After all, 2K, Gearbox’s distribution label, is also taking part in the trade fair.
