Just yesterday, mentions of new RTX 3050 discrete graphics cards for laptops appeared online, which will use AD106 chips from the RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti, and now NVIDIA has confirmed the existence of such solutions to the publication NotebookCheckAlong with the confirmation of their existence, the “greens” also announced their characteristics:
Processor – AD106. CUDA cores – 1792. Memory bus – 64 bit. Video memory – 4 GB. TDP – 45 Watts (35-80 W). PCIe – 4.0 x8.
The graphics processors in these RTX 3050 will be 4-nanometer versus 8-nanometer GA107 in the “old” RTX 3050. The very fact of using a new architecture may well offset the fact that the old RTX 3050 uses chips with 2048 CUDA cores and help the new product not to lose performance. However, here we can also see a twice narrower memory bus, and therefore we would like to see the new video card in action to draw conclusions.
