Adobe has announced that it is expanding the functionality of Illustrator and Photoshop, adding new AI-powered tools to the software solutions. Illustrator now features generative vector fills, while Photoshop gets new brushes and text tools. The company says the new features will help “speed up everyday creative workflows and give users more control.”
Adobe Illustrator has received Generative Shape Fill, which allows users to apply vector graphics by entering text hints in the contextual task bar. Users can use different elements of the same document as a basis for filling a new shape. Everything created with the new tool is vectorized from the start, which gives unlimited editing and scaling capabilities.
Another interesting new feature of Illustrator is Mockup, which helps visualize the final result of placing an illustration on a real object, such as a garment or packaging. Illustrator analyzes the object and applies the illustration to it, choosing the right dimensions and perspectives.
The graphics editor update also offers other new features, such as the ability to detect fonts in vector and raster images and edit or replace them. And with the Text to Pattern tool, you can quickly create editable backgrounds for your projects.
Photoshop also gets new features like the Selection Brush Tool and Adjustment Brush Tool to help with workflows that involve repetitive tasks. There are also improvements to the Type tool and contextual taskbar, and Adobe Firefly has been updated to the latest version.
Adobe is constantly adding a lot of AI-powered features to its apps, and it doesn’t seem to be stopping. AI-powered tools require a connection to Adobe servers and are available only by subscription.
