Since the first footage of Captain America: Brave New World appeared, viewers have been wondering what role Giancarlo Esposito will play. Gamers may be familiar with the actor from his roles as the Dentist in PayDay 2 and the dictator Anton Castillo in Far Cry 6. In the superhero action movie, Esposito once again will return to the villainous role.
At San Diego Comic-Con 2024, where details about future Marvel films were revealed, the role played by Giancarlo Esposito was also announced. He will play Seth Welker, nicknamed Sidewinder, who appeared in the comics of the main universe (Earth-616). There, a successful businessman, Welker was able to create a successful crime syndicate.
The Snake Society, led by Seth Welker, was involved in various criminal activities. The leader of the syndicate himself does not have any unique abilities, but he has a special cloak in his equipment. It can teleport its owner and the one covered by the cloak along with him.
It is not yet clear how the character will be adapted into the cinematic universe – in the available footage he appeared without his villainous costume.
