Gunfire Games Studio celebrated the anniversary of the release of Remnant II, a third-person shooter that was quite well received by players and critics. According to the plans, the developers expected to release all 3 paid DLCs for the game within a year of the release. But difficulties arose with the release of the third add-on.
To mark Remnant II’s anniversary, the developers have shared some news about the Dark Horizon expansion. This third DLC is now scheduled to be released in September 2024, but the exact date has not yet been announced.
The developers explained the reason for the delay of the third planned paid expansion for Remnant II by the desire to release it as “polished” as possible to give players “the best experience they deserve.”
The Dark Horizon expansion for Remnant II is set to be the largest DLC yet. The developers are currently being tight-lipped about the details, but it is known that this DLC will add a new game mode with a new special progression system. They promise to share more details “soon.”
Reviews of previous DLCs
It should be noted that the first two add-ons for Remnant II were not met with enthusiasm by players.
Players found The Forgotten Kingdom DLC to be nothing different from the base game, noting that they couldn’t figure out how the expansion fit into the overall game, since its story didn’t even have a proper ending. The Awakened King expansion was met a little better, thanks to new bosses, but many players noted that the DLC simply “reworked” some of the bosses from the base game, but did not add anything radically new.
Let us remind you that the game Remnant II is available through the Game Pass subscription.
