Get your Zanpakutos out! In three new character trailers for “Bleach: Rebirth of Souls,” Bandai Namco takes a closer look at the three characters Ichigo, Rukia and Uryu and shows what they can do in the upcoming anime fighting game.
Since the official announcement of the anime fighting game “Bleach: Rebirth of Souls”, Bandai Namco has been releasing little tidbits of information about the title. After the gameplay mechanics were recently presented in more detail, new videos now focus on three of our main characters. In new character trailers, we get to know our protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki and his companions Rukia and Uryu a little better.
But that’s not all! We also learn a bit more about the playing styles of the three characters. The creators present their special core mechanics in brief flashes. Really nice information if you can take your eyes off the fast-paced action.
Melee ace, ranged expert and all-rounder
In the new “Bleach: Rebirth of Souls” videos, Ichigo is presented as a powerful close-combat fighter who can deal enormous damage. Since he is said to be “easy to handle,” he should be a good choice for fighting game newbies. As in the anime, Ichigo also relies on his trusty sword Zangetsu in the upcoming video game. With powerful blows, our main character makes life pretty difficult for his opponent Renji.
Shinigami Rukia Kuchiki, meanwhile, seems to be more of an all-rounder. In the character trailer, she puts her opponent under pressure with a mix of close combat and long-range attacks. Compared to Ichigo, her frequent use of Kidō (magic) is particularly noticeable. Uryu Ishida, the third character in the group, relies primarily on long-range attacks as a Quincy. He relies primarily on his bow, with which he can use powerful attacks.
“Bleach: Rebirth of Souls” is based on the manga series “Bleach” created by Tite Kubo. With more than 120 million volumes sold worldwide, it is one of the most successful manga series of all time. Due to the popularity of the work, an anime series was released from 2004 to 2012, for which Studio Pierrot (“Naruto” series) was responsible. In total, the first anime series in the franchise includes 366 episodes and four anime films.
In 2022, a new anime series called “Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War” started, which picks up where the previous series ended and adapts the final storyline of the manga. So far, the show has 26 episodes, divided into two parts. Two more parts will follow, which will conclude the story. “Part 3 – The Conflict” is scheduled to launch sometime in 2024 on Japanese TV and worldwide on Disney+.
“Bleach Rebirth of Souls” is in development for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles and PC (via Steam). The anime fighting game currently has no release date.
