Microsoft completed its acquisition of Activision Blizzard King back in October of last year. In late March of this year, Game Pass subscribers saw the first fruits of the merger, with Diablo IV added to the service. Last week, the long-awaited first game in the Call of Duty series, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, joined the subscription. But neither of these games have been released on the Xbox cloud gaming service.
An insider nicknamed eXtas1s claims that the Xbox team is planning to add another Activision game to the Game Pass subscription on August 8. According to him, this will be the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy – that is, a whole collection of remasters of the popular franchise. The insider also statedthat the game could be the first Activision title to be available on Xbox Cloud Gaming. He says he can’t “prove it 100%” right now, but all signs point to plans to add Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy not only to Game Pass for Xbox console and PC users, but also to cloud players.
Let us recall that in a number of regions, the rights to release Activision games in the cloud belong to the publisher Ubisoft. Microsoft transferred them to get approval for the merger with Activision. We wrote more about Ubisoft’s publishing rights to Microsoft projects here.
