The latest successes of the shadPS4 emulator developers, capable of running complex and large-scale games from the PS4 console, have brought back the community’s interest in discussing the PC version of Bloodborne. Unfortunately, over all these years, not a single program has appeared that can at least run a hardcore role-playing game and complete it to the very end on a PC. However, enthusiasts have recently managed to make a very important discovery that could change everything. Fans are now closer than ever to porting Bloodborne to PC on their own.
The discovery was made by a user nicknamed foxyhooligans, who was once again analyzing Bloodborne files. The enthusiast’s main goal was to search for cut content and additional assets in the game that previous researchers might have missed. He was unable to find anything new in this area, but instead he made the most important discovery. As it turned out, there is a way to run the game in Bloodborne directly on a PC without any third-party emulators. To do this, he forced the game to work with the built-in debugger of the Havok physics engine through his computer.
In this mode, the user gets full access to all elements in the game, including physical models, objects, characters and much more. In fact, Bloodborne can be played on PC through the debug mode, but it can hardly be called a convenient method of playing. The fact is that the connection method itself requires a PS4 and the game installed on it. In addition, the user will not see the game itself in the usual form, but through the built-in debug mode.
It looks like this:
However, this is the most tangible progress in bringing Bloodborne to PC. With enough effort and diligence, enthusiasts could very well release the RPG on PC or at least make the game work through existing emulators.
