Next special controller revealed! Today Sony PlayStation is introducing the exclusive “Astro Bot” controller, which you can pre-order soon.
After announcing an exclusive controller for the PVP shooter “Concord”, Sony has announced the next limited edition gamepad. This time the design is based on the upcoming 3D platformer “Astro Bot”.
“Speed through the galaxy with this limited edition DualSense® wireless controller, inspired by the dynamic design of the ASTRO spaceship Dual Speeder!” explains Sony Interactive Entertainment.
For Team Asobi a “true work of art”
Like the PlayStation mascot itself, the exclusive DualSense is in white and blue. The little bot’s eyes are also depicted on the touchpad. Team Asobi’s studio manager Nicolas Doucet is certainly satisfied with what Sony has achieved and calls it a “true work of art”.
The special controller can be pre-ordered from August 9th at 10am. Both via the PlayStation Direct Store You will be able to purchase the device from selected retailers. You will have to pay 79.99 euros. If you are interested, you should hurry: only a limited number of units are available.
In line with the announcement of the controller, the studio CEO mentioned a few details that you will experience in “Astro Bot” thanks to the DualSense controller. Once again, you will be able to feel all the surfaces you are on. This includes grass, sand, metal, but also water. Compared to “Astro’s Playroom”, the number of textures has been increased.
The adaptive triggers have been doubled along with the haptic feedback. You’ll feel this when you use Astro’s new powers. For example, you’ll feel the thrusters pushing against your fingers. In general, you’ll experience different expressions with your fingers. There’s also talk of many new types of effects.
You can also feel the immersive capabilities of the PS5 controller when using the dual speeder. In addition to the haptic feedback and the adaptive triggers, the motion control is of great importance here.
“Astro Bot” will be released on September 6th exclusively for PlayStation 5. You have to pay 69.99 euros for the jump n’ run adventure. In return, you get at least 12 to 15 hours of playing time.
