AMD has denied a number of media reports that it has postponed the start of sales of Ryzen 5000XT processors. A company representative confirmed to Tom’s Hardware that the Ryzen 9 5900XT and Ryzen 7 5800XT chips will be released before the end of this month. In other words, the new products will go on sale tomorrow, July 31.
“The rules (on the timing) for the ban on sales of (Ryzen) 5000XT processors have not changed,” an AMD representative responded to Tom’s Hardware’s inquiry.
Information that AMD could postpone the launch of Ryzen 5000XT processors to August was indirectly confirmed by data from a large American retailer B&H Photo Video, which indicated on its website that Ryzen 7 5800XT will go on sale on August 8, and Ryzen 9 5900XT – on August 15. That is, at the same time as the new Ryzen 9000 processors, the launch of which was postponed from July 31 and divided into two dates. However, AMD confirmed that the postponement of the start of sales of Ryzen 9000 processors on the Zen 5 architecture for the AM5 platform did not affect the Ryzen 5000XT models on the Zen 3 architecture for the Socket AM4 platform.
The AMD Ryzen 9 5900XT is a 16-core processor with a frequency range of 3.3 to 4.8 GHz. It has four more cores than the Ryzen 9 5900X, but is 400 MHz slower. It has 64 MB of L3 cache and a TDP of 105 watts. The Ryzen 7 5800XT, on the other hand, has eight cores with a frequency of 3.8 to 4.8 GHz, which is 100 MHz higher than the Ryzen 7 5800X, as well as 32 MB of L3 cache. Its TDP is also 105 watts.
