Game developer and publisher My.Games is selling the DonationAlerts and Boosty platforms. The buyer is the structures of Cypriot businessman Pavel Haraneki, the founder of Broadsmart Group, which specializes in luxury real estate. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2024. Its amount is not disclosed.
“I’ve long wanted to expand my portfolio with digital business assets, and I’m excited to now have this opportunity with CEBC,” said Haraneka. “We live in an era where digital content is an integral part of people’s daily lives, helping them learn, express themselves, and monetize their skills and creativity. Boosty and DonationAlerts have clear potential, and I’m looking forward to seeing how these platforms will evolve and contribute to the creative community under new leadership.”
DonationAlerts and Boosty help content creators — from artists and musicians to journalists and streamers — earn income from their work. The services are also used to raise money for charity.
My.Games explains the sale of its services by its desire to focus on its core business – game development and publishing. “In 2023, we began a restructuring process, separating My.Games’ non-game development and publishing businesses and transferring them to CEBC. We began negotiations to sell these assets in March 2024 and are pleased to announce that they have been completed,” said Elena Grigoryan, CEO of My.Games.
In 2023, analysts valued Boosty at $5-10 million. At the same time, it became known that My.Games was negotiating the sale of the service. One of the potential buyers was VK, which initially owned Boosty together with My.Games. In 2022, My.Games was acquired by Alexander Chachava for $642 million.
In addition to Broadsmart Group, Haraneka founded a commercial and residential real estate design business in the UAE in 2022. Apparently, acquiring the services is a way for him to diversify his business and enter the promising field of digital technologies.
