Animated films have recently been making box offices ring around the world. Disney in particular has been able to enjoy a tremendous success with Inside Out 2 in recent weeks. The sequel by director Kelsey Mann has already grossed over 1.5 billion US dollars. No other animated film has ever made that much money. This means that Frozen 2 had to vacate its place in the rankings, which made 1.45 billion US dollars in 2019.
The Minions are also doing very well at the moment. Less than a month after its debut, Despicable Me 4 has grossed around 679 million US dollars. And the year of animated films is far from over. Moana 2 and Transformers One, among others, will soon be released in cinemas. Netflix is also planning to release another animated film, which was recently updated with fresh material.
What new animated films are coming out on Netflix?
A fantasy adventure titled Spellbound, which has been in production at Skydance Animation for seven years, will be released on Netflix on November 22, 2024. After several attempts and a switch from Apple TV+ to Netflix, subscribers will soon be able to stream the film at no additional cost.

Which actors are in Spellbound?
Netflix is once again relying on some well-known names from the Hollywood industry for the cast of Spellbound. The main role of Princess Ellian will be voiced by Rachel Zegler (West Side Story). Nicole Kidman, Javier Bardem, John Lithgow and Jenifer Lewis are also on board as voice artists. There is no trailer for Spellbound yet. However, the actors have already spoken in a short video to word reported.
