Portal Windows Central I noticed that Microsoft-owned British developer Playground Games (new Fable, Forza Horizon series) has opened another division for the first time in seven years.
Let’s remember that Playground Games was founded in 2010 to work on Forza Horizon and opened its second division in 2017, even before the studio was acquired by Microsoft in 2018.
As noted by Windows Central journalists, recently on the official Playground Games page in the service LinkedIn Not two, but three studios are mentioned (all located in the British town of Leamington Spa).
“At our headquarters, we support and grow the vast and vibrant Horizon community. And in new studios across town, we’re developing Fable, the next beginning to the iconic series,” the updated description reads.
At the same time, as noted in Video Games ChroniclePlayground Games description on its official website remains unchanged and still only mentions two studios. Windows Central has reached out to Microsoft for comment.
Playground Games’ latest release, the open-world arcade racer Forza Horizon 5, dates back to 2021. Since then, the project has attracted over 40 million people.
Playground is currently working on Fable, a reboot of the acclaimed fantasy RPG series, which is scheduled to premiere in 2025. Rumors suggest Q4 (October to December).
