Site SteamDB published a list of games that generated the most revenue on Steam between July 23 and July 30.
The week’s big new release is Sandlot and D3Publisher’s co-op shooter about fighting alien invaders, Earth Defense Force 6, which has been released in the West almost two years after its Japanese premiere. The game has shot up to fourth place despite devastating reviews. At launch, the ratings were “extremely negative” (17% based on about 300), and now the rating is 52 % (the number of reviews increased to 3.2 thousand). At its peak, the shooter attracted 18 641 human.
The most common complaint was the link to the Epic Games Store – when the game is launched, the services of a third-party store are automatically installed, without an account in which you cannot access the multiplayer (which the developers did not warn about). Later, the publisher apologized before buyers, but the requirement remains in force. In addition to this feature, users are unhappy with the lack of regional prices, outdated graphics and technical problems, including slow loading. In terms of gameplay, the shooter is mostly praised – many put it above Helldivers 2.
