Today, the lineup of processors for the long-lived AM4 platform has officially been expanded with Ryzen 7 5800XT and Ryzen 9 5900XT chips. Both new products belong to the Vermeer family and are based on the Zen 3 microarchitecture. By the way, earlier information appeared on the Internet about the postponement of the release of new AM4 processors, but, as we can see, this did not happen.
In terms of specifications, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800XT and Ryzen 9 5900XT are little different from previously released processors. The former offers 8 cores/16 threads and 32 MB of L3 cache, while the latter offers 16 cores/32 threads and 64 MB of L3 cache. Both new products feature a boost frequency of up to 4.8 GHz and a nominal TDP of 105 W. The Ryzen 7 5800XT comes with an AMD Wraith Prism cooling system.
In foreign stores, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800XT processor is available at a recommended price of $249, and for the Ryzen 9 5900XT you will have to pay from $349. The new products can be used with almost all AM4 motherboards, subject to updating the UEFI firmware.
