A few months ago, Ubisoft announced Anno 117: Pax Romana, the latest game in the popular and successful construction franchise. A specific release date has not yet been set, but fans can hardly contain their impatience. The developers have therefore made a clever move: they are letting the community have a say in the design of the new Anno. But how exactly is this currently working?
When will Anno 117: Pax Romana be released?
As the name suggests, Anno 117: Pax Romana takes you back to the era of the great Roman Empire. To be more precise, the game takes place in an era that was not only characterized by economic and political stability, but also produced incredible achievements. In the role of a Roman governor, it is your job to build several cities and keep the residents happy.
When it was officially announced, Ubisoft had already announced that Anno 117: Pax Romana would be released in 2025. There is still no specific release date. But at least the publisher recently narrowed down the time frame for the release. Fortunately, fans don’t have to sit idly in front of their screens until next year; the developers are letting them participate in the design of the game.
This is how the fans decide at Anno 117
A community competition for Anno 117: Pax Romana was recently launched. Fans were asked to submit sketches or detailed drawings of statues that fit the new building game from Ubisoft Mainz both thematically and in terms of basic design. The team has now made a shortlist, and the best submissions are available now ready for voting.

Fans can choose their personal favorite until August 4, 2024. The design that receives the most votes by the end of the deadline will be adopted by the developers and incorporated into Anno 117: Pax Romana. In this way, the community helps shape the game. It is quite conceivable that more campaigns of this kind could follow before the release next year.
