Electronic Arts was ready to revolutionize the Battle Pass of Apex Legends with Season 22, but had to deal with strong complaints from players who did not look favorably on the announced changes. And after the protests, the American giant has partially backtracked.
EA has confirmed in an official statement that future Apex Legends Premium Battle Passes will still be available to purchase with in-game currency, canceling the plan to make them available only through real-money microtransactions. “You spoke, and we listened: with the arrival of Season 22, we are restoring the ability to purchase Premium Battle Passes for 950 Apex Coins. We admit that we could have handled the changes to Battle Passes better, and that is our fault,” EA said in a statement, adding that “with each Battle Pass, you will be able to earn enough Apex Coins to purchase subsequent Battle Passes.”
The most controversial element of the changes planned by EA has therefore been canceled following protests from fans. The other novelty remains intact, that is, that starting from Season 22, the Battle Pass of Apex Legends will be divided into two, each with 60 levels and lasting six weeks. “Going forward, we recognize that we need to be more timely, transparent and consistent in our communications with the public. Your priorities are ours: cheaters, game stability and quality of life updates are our first thoughts. We need to improve and we are saying it now”, EA underlined.
