Following recent rumors, the publishing house 2K and company Microsoft officially announced the imminent release of the crime action game Mafia: Definitive Edition from Hangar 13 in the Game Pass subscription.
Recall that plans to add Mafia: Definitive Edition to Game Pass were recently announced by insiders Nate the Hate (aka NateDrake) and eXtas1s. According to the latter, the release will take place on August 13.
As it became known, Mafia: Definitive Edition will indeed be added to the Game Pass catalog on August 13. The game will be available to PC and Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as well as within Xbox Cloud Gaming.
“Rebuilt from the ground up, Mafia: Definitive Edition offers a chance to rise through the ranks in the brutal world of organized crime. Coming to Xbox Game Pass on PC and Xbox starting August 13,” reads the announcement from 2K.
Mafia: Definitive Edition is a full-fledged remake of the classic crime action game Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven, developed from scratch by the Czech studio Illusion Softworks.
The original Mafia and its remake tell the story of taxi driver Thomas Angelo, who, after an accidental encounter with the mafia, finds himself in the world of organized crime.
Mafia: Definitive Edition was released in September 2020 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PS4, and Xbox One. The remake earned 76-79% on Metacritic and 86% “very positive” reviews on Steam (out of nearly 59,000).
