Goichi Suda and Shinji Mikami Want to Make a Killer7 Sequel
At Grasshopper Direct 2024, Grasshopper Manufacture founder and CEO Goichi Suda joined veteran Shinji Mikami to discuss Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered.
However, as the two discussed their future projects at the end of the event, Mikami revealed that he would like to see the return of Killer7, which he co-wrote with Suda.
“I realized that I wanted to stay directly involved in game creation and I would like to see Suda make a sequel to Killer7,” Mikami said.
“Seriously?” Suda asked in surprise. “Someday we might see a sequel to Killer7. Or a Complete Edition.”
“The most important thing is whether you want to make it or not,” Mikami continued. Suda added: “I’d rather make the Complete Edition first. And then Killer11.”
Mikami asked if the sequel would indeed be titled Killer11, to which Suda immediately clarified: “I don’t know. Killer7: Something, maybe. Maybe Killer7: Beyond.”
In the current version of Killer7, the character Coyote doesn’t talk much, but it was originally planned to have a lot of dialogue. There’s certainly potential for this to be brought back in a new edition of the game.
“Fans would probably like the Complete Edition,” Mikami said. “It’s actually possible.” Suda noted: “We have to decide which comes first, Killer7: Beyond or the Complete Edition.”
