Google Corporation activates combat deepfakes in your search. People who have fallen victim to deepfake content have long been able to request that such content be removed from search, and now deepfakes will be filtered better.
As product manager Emma Higham explains, once deepfake content is removed, Google’s search engine will filter out all similar results for similar queries. If an image is removed, Google’s systems will remove all copies of it.

The company also plans to penalize sites that publish fake content. Google will update its ranking system for queries that are more likely to produce fake results.
After the update, sites that post fake content may significantly drop in search results. For queries that search for fake content, Google will first try to show trustworthy materials – for example, news.
