SNK’s return to the gaming industry has indeed made one of its beloved classic game franchises – Metal Slug – find its place again. Although it doesn’t immediately get a new series like its old games which are always exciting and fun, SNK has at least begun to explore what can be adapted to this franchise, including changing the genre to strategy. But in the midst of this effort, have you ever thought and wondered what would happen if Metal Slug ended up being merged with the Metroidvania concept? SNK may not have thought about it to that point, but at least this indie developer is ready to offer that sensation.
It is an indie developer from England – Gelato Games Ltd who is trying to realize this concept through their latest 2D action game – Guns of Fury. As the subtitle we wrote above, calling it a fusion of the Metal Slug game with the metroidvania genre will immediately explain what it offers. Gelato itself promises not only a vast connected world, but also like the metroidvania concept, a series of items and powers that you will get to explore it. The opportunity to buy weapons, intense boss fights, to alternative endings are ready to be offered.
Guns of Fury will combine the concepts of Metal Slug and metroidvania!
