In January-June of this year, sales of gaming consoles in Russia increased by 97% compared to the previous period, to 15.5 billion rubles. This growth is explained by market participants by a decrease in prices for certain devices, the restoration of console supplies from China, and an increase in interest in games on physical media due to the availability of Russian adaptations.
In the first half of last year, 704 thousand consoles were sold, which is 97% higher than market estimates in monetary terms and 39% higher in quantitative terms. As noted by the company, sales were higher than expected and showed good growth.
The same information is confirmed by two other large retailers – Yandex Market and Wildberries. In the first case, the growth was as much as 176% (data for the year is taken into account), and in the second – 77%.
