NCsoft is bolstering its portfolio by investing in Swedish studio Moon Rover Games. The $3.5 million seed round will help fund the development of a new co-op shooter.
The press release announcing the investment states that NCSoft wants to “fund a new ambitious FPS project and secure a long-term partnership, including discussions of publishing rights and future collaborations.”
Moon Rover Games was founded by a group of former EA DICE Battlefield developers back in 2022 and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. With extensive experience in developing FPS games, the team members also have experience working on franchises such as Far Cry and Tom Clancy’s The Division.
NCsoft is the sole investor in this round of investment, and this initial funding is part of what the company sees as a longer-term commitment. If things go well in production and things continue to move in a positive direction, the two companies will continue to discuss various ways to collaborate, “including additional investment and publishing rights.”
