What is a habit that has been established for at least the last decade every time the Olympics take place? That’s right, outside of the competition of the world’s best athletes trying to show off their abilities in their favorite sports, “ordinary” people like us can also participate at home. Not only watching, but also keeping our fingers busy playing the Olympic-style Mario & Sonic game which is certainly fun. But unfortunately, the collaboration game is not available this year – the 2024 Olympics. What really happened?
It turns out, oh it turns out, the decision was taken by the Olympic committee itself based on the confession of the former producer of Sports Marketing and Digital Media who handled the Olympic licensing affairs – Lee Cocker. He said that it was the IOC (International Olympic Committee) that decided not to renew the licensing contract with Mario & Sonic. They want to find another partner who focuses more on esports and also NFT. The goal? Of course, more money because the IOC wants to have stronger control over licensing matters internally.
In the name of NFTs and esports, the Olympic Committee reportedly terminated its licensing contract with Mario & Sonic.
The 2024 Olympics currently taking place in France has a video game called Olympics Go! Paris 2024 that can be downloaded and played for free. As for NFT, they are also collaborating with nWay and concocting a series of pin collections. What do you think about this situation?
