Majors is open to returning to the role of Kang if the opportunity arises.
There’s at least one person who’s not entirely happy about Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Jonathan Majors, who until recently played Kang the Conqueror in the same franchise.
IN conversations Majors admitted to TMZ that the news of Downey Jr.’s return “broke his heart.” But the actor has nothing against Doctor Doom appearing in the film universe — Downey Jr. will play him.

Yeah, (the news) broke my heart. Of course I love him, I love Kang. But Doctor Doom is a (good) villain too.
Majors lost his role as Kang the Conqueror when he was convicted of domestic violence. Marvel immediately fired the actor, and rumors circulated that they were looking for a replacement for Majors’ character as the antagonist.
An interesting point: Robert Downey Jr. also had problems with the law at one time. In the nineties, the actor served almost a year and a half for drug possession, but then managed to resume his career.
Majors’ lawyers are hoping his career won’t suffer too much either. The actor says he’s ready to return to the role of Kang at any time.
