James Gunn has announced that filming on Superman has wrapped, in a message in which the director wanted to thank everyone involved in this ambitious project, from the cast to the crew.
“Filmmaking wrapped. God bless our cast and crew for their dedication, creativity and hard work in bringing this project to life,” Gunn wrote. “I set out to make a film about a good man in a world that isn’t always good.”
“And the kindness, the gentleness and the love that I encountered on set every day inspired me and kept me going when I felt too exhausted to move on my own. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.”
“It was an honor. The destination was Superman, but the journey was about the grind, the laughter, the emotions, the ideas and the magic we shared together on set, and for that I will always be grateful.”
See you in a year for the release in theaters
Several weeks after the first photo of David Corenswet in the Superman costume was released, the film’s production has made substantial progress and in recent months the announcement of the end of filming has arrived. Now the appointment is for July 11, 2025, when the film will hit theaters.
Featuring a cast that includes the aforementioned David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Superman will feature a host of non-Kryptonian heroes, from Green Lantern to Hawkgirl.
