Zenless Zone Zero received excellent ratings on Famitsu: the free-to-play action game developed by miHoYo has evidently convinced the editorial staff of the Japanese magazine, which awarded it two 9s and two 8s, for a total of 34/40.
Blue Fire (PS4, Switch) – 7/8/8/8/ (31/40)
Rashomon of Shinjuku (Switch) – 8/8/8/8 (32/40)
Transformers: EarthSpark – Expedition (PS5, Switch) – 7/7/7/6 (27/40)
Zenless Zone Zero (PS5) – 8/9/9/8 (34/40)
Transformers: EarthSpark – Expedition fared less well, having to settle for three 7s and a 6, for a total of 27/40: rather low numbers, considering the average for the Japanese magazine, which make one think of a mediocre product.
As for Blue Fire and Rashomon of Shinjuku, these are respectively a budget title that arrived in Japan very late (it was released here in 2021) and an adventure for Nintendo Switch that was not distributed in the West.
Another hub after Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail?
But let’s get back to miHoYo’s title, which was greeted with a certain enthusiasm by the international press and therefore finds only further confirmation on the pages of Famitsu. By the way, have you read our review of Zenless Zone Zero?
Overall, the feeling is that the Chinese development team has scored another hit after the extraordinary success of Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, even if for the moment it is not reeling off monstrous numbers as one would have expected.
It is difficult to classify the latest tie-ins dedicated to Transformers, however, as they are far from the quality expressed by High Moon Studios at the time of Transformers: War for Cybertron.
