On the night of August 1, there was a failure in the operation of the YouTube video hosting service in Russia, which is confirmed by data from the Downdetector and Downradar services.
The peak of the malfunctions was recorded around midnight Moscow time. The largest number of requests came from residents of Moscow and the region, Downdetector specifies. Users could not watch videos or upload them to the video hosting.
Complaints also come from various cities, such as Tver, Ufa, Murmansk, Chelyabinsk, Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnoyarsk and others. In addition, residents of St. Petersburg, the Leningrad Region, Krasnodar Krai and Novosibirsk Region express dissatisfaction.
It appears that the “70% slowdown in YouTube’s operation” predicted for this week, which was previously announced by MP Alexander Khinshtein, turned out to be much stronger.
