We learned back in February that Motion Twin was preparing to end support for Dead Cells with new content, but the developers did not announce the release date of the latest update. Now it has become known that the 35th control patch will be released on August 19.
The suspension of support for Dead Cells is due to the high workload of the authors in other projects, as explained by the studio’s lead designer Sebastien Benard:
The obvious reason for all this fuss is, of course, the desire to free up time for the development of Windblown (Motion Twin’s next game). But, as has always been the case at the studio, this is a one-sided strategy that leaves people behind: both loyal players and our employees. Unfortunately, nothing changes.
At the same time, the developers emphasized that technical support for Dead Cells with new patches will not go away – there will simply be no new levels or other content.
