It’s already obvious that several elements in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero are inspired by Dragon Ball Super: Broly – think of Goku’s (Super) warm-up at the beginning of each duel. But if you’ve seen the new Dragon Ball Sparking Zero video about the characters of the Frieza Saga, you might have noticed another interesting detail.
The trailer, as mentioned, focuses on the protagonist fighters of the Saiyan Saga (Goku Beginning, Piccolo and Raddish, Saibaiman, Vegeta, Nappa) and the Namek Saga (Freezer and his minions), but the more attentive may have noticed a significant detail concerning the galactic emperor.
In his base form, Dragon Ball Z’s Freezer has a blue scouter on his face, and not a red one, as we see in the classic anime episodes. This is because the emperor, in the movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly, is presented with a blue detector, as we see during the prologue of the 2018 film.
This is further evidence of how much the Bandai Namco game takes into account the events of DB Super: Broly, which have partly changed both the appearance and the narrative backstories of some characters. Specifically, we are talking about the “young” Freezer, who at the time of the destruction of Planet Vegeta wore a black armor, and not purple.
At this point it is also reasonable to assume that the aforementioned black armor could be present in the game as an alternative skin for the character.
