Donkey Kong Country Returns HD is the HD remastered version of the game released for Nintendo Wii in 2010. This new version announced during the Nintendo Direct on June 18, 2024 is coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch on January 16, 2025.
This is the second re-release of Donkey Kong Country Returns, as a porting of the game was released for Nintendo 3DS in 2013 with additional levels, also included in this version for Nintendo Switch. This is the second remaster of Donkey Kong released for Nintendo Switch, after Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze which was originally released on Nintendo Wii U.
