It’s no secret that for Electronic Arts AI represents the future of video games and has never hidden its intentions to use them in an increasingly concrete way in its games. And CEO Andrew Wilson claims that artificial intelligence has been fundamental to the success of EA Sports College Football 25.
In the company’s latest financial report, Wilson explains that EA Sports College Football 25 was able to offer 150 unique stadiums and 11,000 different players thanks to the support of AI that allowed them to not only faithfully recreate their real-life counterparts, but also in much faster times than normal, thus giving a huge help to all the developers involved in the project.
“Creating 150 unique stadiums and 11,000 unique player likenesses would not have been possible without Electronic Arts’ rich history as a technology leader and the passion and talent of our teams, who have leveraged the power of AI and machine learning to deliver an amazing sports experience,” Wilson said. “The reality is that our teams are incredible and we have intricate workflows in place to support them, but AI has helped amplify and facilitate their work. Without AI, we would not have been able to deliver College Football at the level we have, despite the many years of development that went into it.”
EA Sports College Football 25 generated huge sales upon launch, with EA expressing its satisfaction with the commercial results achieved: in light of this success, the use of artificial intelligence in an ever-increasing number of future projects becomes an increasingly concrete idea.
