Funko Fusion reveals more content at San Diego Comic-Con: story trailer, villain, franchises and more.
During San Diego Comic-Con, 10:10 Games, together with Funko Inc. and Universal Products & Experiences, announces news about the cast for Funko Fusion and releases a new story trailer as well as additional videos and images.
Fans meet Eddy Funko, the devious villain from Funko Fusion. He is the corrupt and powerful shape-shifting counterpart to Freddy Funko. Eddy’s menacing voice is provided by actor and voice actor Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption, Highlander, Invincible, Detroit: Become Human).
Eddy seeks absolute power and has the dark power to possess the inhabitants of pop culture-inspired worlds.
He uses his ability to build an army of twisted characters inspired by franchises such as Jurassic World, Back to the Future, The Thing from Another World, and Killer Chucky. Players try to fight back by assembling their own team of playable heroes, each with unique tools that can be used in both combat and puzzle solving.
Comic book legend Robert Kirkman joined the panel as a surprise guest to talk more about Skybound Entertainment’s integration of Invincible and The Walking Dead. Kirkman also presented a first look at the Invincible level of Funko Fusion and showed off the playable characters Invincible and Omni-Man. There was also a sneak peek at Rick Grimes and Michonne from The Walking Dead.
Panelists also included Jon Burton, CEO and founder of 10:10 Games; Arthur Parsons, co-founder and head of publishing; Jason Bischoff, vice president of licensing and business development at Funko; and Ian Cooper, creative director at Monkeypaw Productions and producing partner to Jordan Peele.
Cooper revealed details about the first integration of NOPE into a video game. Fan-favorite voice actor Kellen Goff also joined the panel and announced his return to his role as Freddy Fazbear from Five Nights at Freddy’s in Funko Fusion.
A special collection of Funko Fusion Funko Pop! Figures based on some of the characters from the game will be available later this summer on Funko.com and at select retailers worldwide.
During the panel, Funko also revealed exclusive in-game bonus characters and outfits that collectors can unlock by redeeming codes included with Funko Fusion Pop! figures.
These include Mecha Freddy and so-called variant outfits, such as the Slime Pit variant for He-Man. This content complements the over 60 characters and their variant outfits that are already included in Funko Fusion.
Funko Fusion will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam on September 13, 2024, and for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on November 15, 2024. It can be pre-ordered digitally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam.
