The first update for The First Descendant has been released. It includes new characters, a boss, and a new weapon, as well as many bug fixes and other improvements.
The main event of the first update was the introduction of two new characters for The First Descendant. The first is Luna, a support character whose weapon uses rhythm game mechanics, allowing her to deal damage by firing in time to the music. Her music also provides bonuses to teammates, increasing their ability power and ME recovery, as well as reducing ability cooldowns.
Another new character is Super Valby, a version of the aquatic ecologist Valby with increased stats and a new appearance. She also gets two unique modification modules.
The first update also adds a new battle to The First Descendant, where players will have to fight a giant mech boss. Defeating it will reward players with a set of cosmetics and a blueprint for a new weapon, the Peacekeeper.
The update also added a solid list of improvements to the game. Director Minseok Joo also shared plans for future updates. These include balance changes that will allow for more variety in character builds, as well as improved item drop rates. The team is also working on a way to recycle unnecessary items (duplicate legendary weapon components and Descendants) in response to community criticism.
