Ed Boon decided to play the insider a little.
NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon published The first still from Mortal Kombat 2, the 2021 sequel to the film. As Boone jokes, he stole a photo from producer Todd Garner’s phone during a test screening.
The first image of Mortal Kombat 2 shows Kitana, one of the franchise’s veteran fighters. As in the Mortal Kombat games, Kitana will be armed with fans with multiple blades.
Kitana is expected to be played by actress Adeline Rudolph in the new film. Although filming has already been completed, the official cast of Mortal Kombat 2 has not yet been revealed.
Mortal Kombat 2 will be released on October 24, 2025.
