Maybe it’s just a coincidence, maybe it’s a fluke, or maybe it all came together like one of those intricate puzzles from Assassin’s Creed 2. Either way, Assassin’s Creed Unity, the once-underrated 2014 entry in Ubisoft’s stealth series set during the French Revolution, has been on the rise on Steam ever since the Paris Olympics began. Maybe people are watching Games and want to take a virtual tour of Paris for themselves. Whatever the reason, with Assassin’s Creed Shadows just around the corner and a decade since its release, Assassin’s Creed Unity is experiencing a renaissance.
The Olympics began on Friday, July 26. And if you look at the number of simultaneous players of Assassin’s Creed Unity on that day, its peak was 808 players. A day later, their number increased to 1,242, the day after that – to 1,292, then – to 1,666. And so on every day since the beginning of the Olympics, until in the last 24 hours it reached the mark of 2,220 players.
Olympic fever or not, if you want to be part of the Assassin’s Creed Unity “renaissance,” you can buy the game at Steam with 75% discount.
