Rockstar Games has announced the release date of Bully on GTA+: the classic developed by Rockstar Vancouver, originally released in 2006 on PS2, will be available for users subscribed to the platform starting August 20.
“With back-to-school on the horizon, rule the halls of Bullworth Academy as mischievous teenager Jimmy Hopkins in Bully,” reads a post on the official Rockstar Games website.
“On August 20th, GTA+ members will be able to tackle the obstacles of this crumbling prep school via the GTA+ Games Library, allowing users to download and play a rotating assortment of classic Rockstar Games titles.”
“Bully will be available to GTA+ subscribers on the console platform that coincides with their active subscription, as well as compatible iOS and Android devices.”
No future for the series?
The arrival of Bully in the GTA+ catalog has once again raised doubts about the possible future of the series, which however seems to have been shelved. Yet, exactly one year ago, we discovered that Bully 2 and Bully 3 were in Rockstar Games’ plans.
According to rumors circulating over the last few months, it seems that Bully 2 was canceled due to GTA Online and, in general, Rockstar Games’ need to focus its resources on some specific products, leaving no room for other projects.
Who knows, maybe the eventual success of the classic Bully in the GTA+ catalog could at least make the company understand that there is still a strong demand for this intellectual property and that perhaps it is worth investing something in it.
