In the wake of Bungie’s announcement of numerous layoffs and relocations, rumors surfaced yesterday that the studio had canceled “Payback,” the codename for a potential Destiny 3. According to information from Jason Schreier, a project with that name has indeed been canceled, but it is not a new game in the series.
More details will come with a dedicated report on the pages of Bloomberg, but in the meantime the journalist explained that Payback was actually supposed to be a sort of spin-off of Destiny, but it was canceled some time before the decision to layoff employees announced this week.
