Nintendo announced in its new annual report how many times the Switch was sold in the last quarter and overall. There is also an updated list of the Japanese company’s most successful games.
Even seven years after its launch, the Switch still finds numerous buyers.
Even though Nintendo’s profits have plummeted, the video game company still has acceptable figures, as shown in its latest annual report.
Profits in the second quarter of 2024 amounted to 338 million euros. The reason for the sharp decline is, on the one hand, the obsolete Nintendo Switch and the lack of software on offer.
How many times has the console been sold so far? In the last quarter, another 2.1 million units were shipped. This means that the total number of units sold is now 143.42 million.
Compared to the previous year, sales have fallen by 46.3 percent. The situation is similar for software sales, which have fallen by 41.3 percent. However, due to the tremendous success of “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” and the “Super Mario” film, the numbers last year were exceptionally high.
In addition, new sales figures for the most popular Nintendo games are available. This is what the ranking looks like:

Figures are also available for “Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year” and “Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD”, which were released in May and June respectively. The former title sold 1.76 million copies by June 30, while the second game sold 1.19 million copies.
It is highly likely that the Switch successor will hit the shelves in 2025. After numerous rumors, Nintendo finally spoke up and announced the unveiling period. According to the rumors, the new console will be officially presented by March 31, 2025.
