The game Dead Cells, first released in 2018, has a huge audience of fans. The project has been actively developing in recent years – large free updates and paid DLCs with a lot of content have been regularly released for it. But a few months ago, the developers announced that support would soon end. Now the release date of the last content update has been announced.
Motion Twin Studios has announced that it plans to release the final content update for Dead Cells on August 19. This will be the 35th update to add new content to the game, and it will be called The End is Near. According to the developers, “it will be a little strange to see the game no longer receive content updates, but let’s be honest, there are hundreds of hours of content in it already.”
The upcoming update will add cursed biomes and related content: 3 weapon types, 3 enemy types, and 3 colorless mutations. There will also be 20 legendary affixes, over 40 character head customization options, balance improvements, new biome transitions, and accessibility settings.
The Motion Twin team, which has supported Dead Cells for many years, notes that the freed-up resources will be directed towards the development of the newly announced game Windblown.
