With “Lollipop Chainsaw: RePOP”, the action title originally released in 2012 returns in the form of a remaster. In a short statement, the developers answered the question of whether adjustments were necessary for the release on the current platforms.
In June, the developers at Dragami Games gave “Lollipop Chainsaw: RePOP” a release date and announced that the remaster will be released in September 2024.
In addition to revealing the release date, the Japanese studio talked about possible changes or adjustments that might have been necessary to bring “Lollipop Chainsaw” to the current platforms. As Dragami Games confirmed, fans of the original from 2012 do not have to fear any cutbacks.
Accordingly, no adjustments had to be made to the content of “Lollipop Chainsaw”. This means that the remaster also offers all the content and features that you know from the original.
Digital pre-orders start soon
Dragami Games continued: “We have received approval from almost all platforms on which Lollipop Chainsaw: RePOP will be released. This is very important to us, the original team. But there have been no requests for changes to the game content.”
“Pre-orders for the digital versions for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch will start soon,” the team added.
While the content remains the same, “Lollipop Chainsaw” has received various improvements in the new edition. These include improved graphics, support for 4K resolution and minor adjustments to the combat system and camera work.
“We want to transform the battles into something that will bring joy to today’s console action game players by removing the sluggishness in the chainsaw battles, adjusting the speed, improving the input time for cheerleading and chainsaw combo attacks, and optimizing the camera movement,” the developers said.
The retail release will be a little later
“Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP” will be released on September 25, 2024 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch. Please note that this date only applies to the digital version of the remaster. Anyone who wants to put the new edition in the form of a physical version on their home shelf will have to wait until October.
However, Dragami Games has not yet given a specific date. The same applies to the possible PS4 version, with which the developers say they are responding to demand from the community.
