Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream, the highly anticipated stealth adventure, will make its trade show debut at Gamescom 2024.
International multiplatform game publisher Nordcurrent Labs and developer River End Games today announced that narrative-driven single-player stealth adventure Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream will make its trade show debut at Gamescom 2024 in Cologne, following its announcement at the Future Game Showcase in June 2024.
Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream is a character-driven single-player game set in Eriksholm – a fictional town in a world heavily influenced by the Nordic-inspired aesthetic of the early 1900s.
It tells the story of three protagonists united by the fire in their hearts to defy their oppressors.
The reveal trailer introduces protagonist Hanna, a growing-up orphan searching for her brother Herman. What follows is a sequence of events that transforms Hanna into a reluctant heroine and inspires her and her friends to rise from the gutters of Eriksholm and become symbols of change.
From a top-down 3D perspective, players will embody Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream’s three playable protagonists and navigate the detailed streets and gritty underground of the city of Eriksholm, utilizing each character’s unique abilities, tools, and weapons to overcome obstacles and solve puzzles.
Players can freely move the camera in the game to survey the environment, plan their next move, and execute it with perfect timing. Even overhearing dialogue, such as contextual guard conversations, can prove useful in finding the best strategic move to advance undetected, as challenges can have multiple solutions.
Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream cleverly combines the art of storytelling, stealth, and strategy-based game mechanics to provide players with an immersive adventure with high-quality visuals, motion capture, and engaging real-time gameplay.
It is the first title from developer River End Games, which was acquired by Nordcurrent in 2023. The studio was founded by Anders Hejdenberg (Battlefield 2: Modern Combat), the creative director of Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream.
Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream will be released in 2025 for Windows PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
