The Summer Game Fest is going into overtime! After we already had Geoff Keighley’s June show, the big Xbox showcase and more, THQ Nordic is now coming around the corner with its own presentation. This year’s presentation was also quite something, with the announcement of Wreckfest 2, the first gameplay of the Gothic Remake and Titan Quest 2, as well as other interesting games for your wishlist. We’ll summarize everything for you.
Wreckfest 2
In 2018, THQ Nordic released Wreckfest, the spiritual successor to the Flatout series. Whereas in other racing games, at most a few scratches appear in the paint, in Wreckfest everything breaks. The racing game puts you in tough demolition derbies in which you literally drive your opponents to scrap.
At first glance, the first trailer looks very much like CGI, and in parts it is. However, THQ Nordic assured us that the sequences of the driver in the car are gameplay scenes. The focus of Wreckfest 2 is the powerful customization tool, which lets you color every single part of your car and even adjust the rust spots. These then break spectacularly again due to the souped-up physics simulation.

Attention fans of Gothic! You can’t miss this when the remake is released – this is what’s in the Collector’s Edition
THQ Nordic has planned something special for all fans of the legendary role-playing series for the release of Gothic Remake.
Gothic Remake
THQ Nordic has finally lifted the veil! After two years of pure in-engine trailers, we finally got to see real gameplay from the Gothic remake. The almost five-minute-long trailer gives a rough overview of the most important features of the new edition. This of course includes the authentic simulation of the game world. NPCs go about their daily work like never before. The developers have created numerous animations for a wide variety of activities.

The remaining environments within the barrier also make their first appearance. For the most part, they stay very close to the original, but the developers at Alkimia Interactive also allow themselves to expand the familiar game world in one place or another.
However, we still owe a release date. THQ Nordic won’t even give us a year. Instead, we’ll see more scenes from the new combat system, well-known characters like Diego, Lester, Milten and Gorn, as well as the different armour of the factions.
The Eternal Life of Goldman
All old-school gamers should check out The Eternal Life of Goldman. Here, THQ presents an old-school 2D platformer. What makes it special is its hand-drawn graphic style. Similar to Cuphead, there is no automatic animation of the keyframes. Here, every single animation was drawn by hand.

But there is also a touch of Metroidvania in there, as Goldman keeps getting new abilities for his walking stick.
There is no exact release date yet, either. The game will be released for all common platforms. But that wasn’t all that THQ Nordic had to show. Disney’s Epic Mickey Rebrushed, a classic from the Wii era, is returning in the form of a remaster. There was also some initial gameplay for the action RPG hope Titan Quest 2.
